With the miracle of hope, we’ve seen how it strengthens our relationship with our Savior, so we have more surety that He is the foundation of our faith. And greater, unshakeable faith is no small miracle! 

We love this time of year. And even though it’s also a different kind of busy with concerts, gatherings, and managing expectations, we also love the joy that comes this time of year.

We had such an enriching and hopeful discussion with Mindy Brown on the Magnify podcast this week about finding hope and peace when someone we love chooses a different path than our own. We always appreciate the way Mindy shares her knowledge and testimony of the gospel, teaching with such powerful warmth.

It's Magnify Book Club time again and we’d love for you to read with us! Our latest pick is The Rock of Our Redeemer: Facing the Future with Faith, Hope, and Power by Elder David A. Bednar. We’re learning so much about what it really means to build our testimonies firmly on Jesus Christ—it’s a deeper dive into what we know in our hearts.

This week’s Magnify podcast episode on how prophetic revelation intersects with personal decision making has us talking. Camille Fronk Olson’s words of wisdom and encouragement have given us more understanding and points of connection with each other.  

We all know that life rarely goes as planned. From spilled milk to sudden heartbreak, James 1:2 says we can “count it all joy.” We love this thought, but how does this work in practice?  

Whether we have kids in school or not, this time of year gets us thinking about how to re-establish our priorities and goals. It’s a time to give ourselves a boost of spiritual homework so we can continue to show up as the kind of faithful women we want to be.

Part of seeking and expecting miracles is seeing and recognizing them. Sometimes our Red Seas part, or we notice the orchestration of God in our lives in hindsight. But when we choose to see the His fingerprints along the way, we will notice that God’s miracles are everywhere.  

We’re not meant to climb our mountains alone. We can look at who God has placed as the miracle workers in our lives, ready to help us forward and upward. And we can pray to see the mountains others are facing, and help be a miracle on their journey.  

Joy is the miracle. Let’s share it far and wide.

We don’t have to traverse the globe to do service that matters. Each of us can be a backyard humanitarian.

When we choose to love God and consecrate our lives to Him, we’re blessed with more light, knowledge—everything we need to make our daily existence full of joy and strength.  

“We know that all things work together for good to them that love God.” (Romans 8:28) As women of faith, this is knowledge we cling to and cherish. Sister Kristin M. Yee said, “Faith in Christ is a choice we can make.” We can strengthen faith so that we can feel His constant peace.

When tragedy strikes, or when offering help in general, we can look at what circle we’re in for someone as we’re trying to figure out how to be helpful. This can prompt ideas so we act instead of feeling helpless and wondering what in the world we can possibly do.  

After updates to the temple recommend interview by the First Presidency, we had had a lot on our minds, so we asked Melinda Brown to talk with us on the Magnify podcast about the temple garment and our covenants.

When a tree falls across our life path, sometimes the answer is to get to work, remove the obstacle, and go forward in the same direction. Other times when the path ahead becomes impossible to navigate, the answer is to pause, listen, and search for another way forward. It won't the one we expected on our carefully planned map of life, but the one that God knew we would need to find.
