Joy can be the miracle we seek

Hi Friends!

This week on the Magnify podcast, Lisa Valentine Clark said, “I’m a friend of Christ.”

Don’t you love how this simple statement says so much? As women who follow Jesus Christ, we are His friends, doing the good that He would do and sharing our light.

Together, as friends of Christ, we are women who believe in the miracle of joy. Even when life does life and delivers the unexpected, we know we can still expect joy. Keeping our covenants and living His gospel, trusting His word and His prophets, learning to lean into our faith and into His love—these things help us know joy, even through sorrow and pain.

Joy is the miracle. Let’s share it far and wide.

“I feel like joy not only is a worthy thing to search for, it is our birthright. ... A lot of times we forget about that, but when we look for it, we can find it. And we can create it for ourselves, for our families, and for other people. It’s a miracle.”  Lisa Valentine Clark

“Dear sisters, as we trust God, I promise that our hearts will be transformed; we will better understand life, know God’s character better, and find more joy in our daily lives. ... [Christ] has the power to make everything beautiful inside our souls. If we overcome our challenges by walking hand in hand with God, we will grow spiritually and develop our divine potential.” Sister Andrea Muñoz Spannaus

“Look around you. You can spread joy every day. The simple interactions you have with others can build character, faith, and testimony. ... The miracle is that joy multiplies—and everyone you share it with will want to spread it.” Sister Michelle D. Craig

Come hear more from Lisa at a Magnify event this fall! Lift Up Your Heart, is a day-long gathering of Latter-day Saint women, meant to remind us of what we know—that Jesus Christ is our answer, and that we’re not alone!

This year, we’re focusing on President Russell M. Nelson’s bold invitation to seek and expect miracles. Specifically, the miracles of joy, courage, peace, faith, and hope that will bring us the strength we need to do hard things.

Together, we’ll increase our spiritual momentum as we look for the ways God is moving mountains in our lives.
