Making joy easier to find in our lives

Hello friends!

We all know that life rarely goes as planned. From spilled milk to sudden heartbreak, James 1:2 says we can “count it all joy.” We love this thought, but how does this work in practice?

We make Christ the center of our joy.

  • For one Magnify friend who lives next to a loud and busy road the depresses her, “counting it all joy” looks like noticing the beauty and sounds of nature because those remind her of God’s hand in all things. With Christ, we find joy in the unexpected.

  • For another friend who is not yet married at mid-life but would like to be, “counting it all joy” looks like gratitude for cherished friendships of all kinds, the ones she’s had forever and the ones she’s just met. With Christ, we connect with joy.

  • For a friend who bears the weight of financial uncertainty, “counting it all for joy” looks like finding peace in the ways her family has been prepared for their present circumstances, even though so much feels out of their control. With Christ, our eyes are open to see joy.

  • “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

Our God is a God of miracles. And one of those miracles is that with Him, joy always comes!
