Finding rest and peace through the to-do lists of life
During some seasons of life, it makes sense to have a checklist in hand because we have the energy to accomplish all the plans we’ve made. At other times, it is necessary (and okay!) to put the checklist down and seek help in even the smallest of tasks because we’re going through difficulty or sorrow.
Spring flowers are often covered in blankets of snow. But that doesn’t mean their growth stops—and neither does ours when the storms of life come. Here at Magnify, we are women in all different stages of life—supporting each other, cheering for each other—and above all we’re walking our paths with God.
Kalo Latu said on the Magnify podcast, “When you make covenants with Heavenly Father, He can help you in the big things, the things that break your heart, and He can help you in the little things that just make your life better.” We are here for each other through the heartbreaks and joys.
Through Christ’s grace, we keep blooming in moments of sunshine and through bitter cold.
He is with us, always.
Feel Better in 5! Finding rest and peace through the to-do lists of life
Pause with Him:
Christ does not expect us to run faster than we have strength (Mosiah 4:27) or to try to sparkle when we feel dim. He is our strength, He is our light, and He is our rest. Trust that He will help you keep up or let go.
Embrace each moment:
Fresh snow can act as a blanket on spring blooms, offering protection from the worst of the storms. Maybe life isn’t going as planned, but that doesn’t mean we’re forgotten. There are still blessings and God’s steady hand in the unexpected parts of our journey.
Keep close to covenants:
“Through our covenant connection with Christ, we can experience amazing joy and happiness and also have access to His strengthening power, comfort, and peace when difficulties and disappointments arise.” Susan K. Bednar
Note the unexpected:
“All things denote there is a God.” (Alma 30:44) God’s love is everywhere and we see it with more clarity when we open our hearts to the unexpected. When we view our lives with this kind of hope, it helps us learn to anticipate His mercy and love with expectation because we know it will come.
Follow His lead:
The Savior found time to rest and be alone. He found time to teach and serve. He found time to eat with friends. In all things, we can look to Him and find the way to true peace and true rest. “Jesus did more than just feel compassion for others; He acted to serve and lift those around Him. Following the example of our Savior by ‘doing’ will help us feel of His love and in turn show our gratitude and love for Him.” Wendy W. Reese
