A little boost of encouragement!
Hi friends!
It’s high holiday season full of concerts and gatherings—you probably attended one last night. And we love it all! We do. But sometimes, it feels like we add more boxes on the to-do list than we’re able to check off which can lead to overwhelm instead of enjoyment during “the most wonderful time of the year.”
We see all you’re doing, friend! You’re amazing.
Sister Amy A. Wright said in her October 2023 conference talk, “My dear friends, we cannot share our oil, but we can share His light.”
Here at Magnify, we’re reminding each other to take notice of the small things we accomplish that share His light amidst the busy of the season. The package in the mail, the meals planned, the concert attended—it all matters and makes a difference. These small deeds are ministering like Jesus would because we’re showing up for the one, or the ones, in our lives in ways that help them feel individually seen and loved.
“By small means the Lord can bring about great things.” (1 Nephi 16:29)
Thank you for all the good you’re doing through your small things.
Feel Better in 5! A little boost of encouragement!
Turn the “to-do” list into the “light” list:
Think of each item on your to-do list as the way you’re sharing His light with those you love. Before you cross something off your list, look at how that small act made a Christlike difference. All good things point us to Christ. Even a seemingly mundane task is a way to share His light.
Reach out for connection:
First, pray to Heavenly Father for more connection with Him and ask to recognize how that looks and feels today. Then, reach out to someone who gets you. Text, call, share a post—be the one to reach out for a moment of quick but meaningful connection.
Send gratitude:
It’s easy to keep the grateful sentiments to our prayers. Take them a step further and speak or write the words of thanks that come to mind and send them to the person you’re thanking God for. Be the one to create a reminder for someone else of the good they’re doing.
See the hope of now:
Hope is something we look forward to: hope to see you soon; hope you have a good trip; hope you feel better. But the archaic definition of hope is “a feeling of trust.” Look for the ways hope helps you to trust yourself, trust others, and trust Jesus in this moment.
Remember you’re known:
There’s comfort in God’s love. He knows each sparrow; He knows each of us. (see Matthew 10:29) “I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.” (Lyrics from “His Eye is on the Sparrow” by Civilla D. Martin)
Let’s encourage each other as we do great things through small and simple things.
